PS, it was never ever considered 2 channel....by the way. That was a lazy
title that some used to describe the series. Fly what you brung was actually
the original 'rule'.

I felt we had a successful contest season with the 2 channel contests.
Next year the club will have another. So before our first club meeting let's
get some views on rules that as they say "level the playing field" and are
for FUN. I've looked at a couple clubs that have these type contests.
Their rules are:
>From the Indian River Kontrol Society
Two meter (78.5") or fewer spans
Rudder and elevator only
No zoom launches
Sailplanes using other functions must be disabled
>From the Soaring League of North Texas
1.5 meter or fewer spans
Equal length high starts. A fish scale is used to establish equal launch
points.
Man on Man format
5 minute max duration, not precision duration. No landing tapes.
4 pilots to a group
Last to land gets 4 pts, next to last gets 3 pts, etc.
Pilots are mixed for each round.
I believe these club contests are designed to be fun for all flying.
What are your thoughts?
