We have chutes and the 3/16" od should be fine for everything but aim for
the middle, the 2m Vista is about middle and priced cheapest.

The heavy duty start with the red chute was the big problem it was made to
take up my unlimited ships.

Let's not over think this, get 5 pieces of tubing and I'll get the rest.

As far as a new ring goes, you can find them at any drug store or where
ever they have key rings.

Yes, the consistency of high starts hasn’t seemed to have been an issue in
earlier rounds this year, but I could sure see it this weekend. However,
we are always going to have a mismatch issue with a contest like this. We
will need heavy enough rubber to get the bigger, heavier ships up in the
air, and some of the smaller hand tossers may still need to walk their planes
in. No big deal, but no one size rubber will be able to meet everyone’s
needs. I’m happy with 3/16” OD tubing for launching the 900, especially
when there is a nice breeze, but fully stretched it will make a Handy’s wings
wail! (say that 5 times) With no wind, I can barely hit 200 ft with 3/16”
  rubber.
Do we have lines, chutes and rings too? On the last set of launches, my
tow ring was lost, so for my hi-start I will need to find a new one of
those. We should also consider the winding reels for these new units, but those
are cheap at Lowes or Home Depot. I will figure out a way to store them
in a dark cool place until someone else takes over the CD duties. I have
lots of extra lexan containers laying around.
Another problem we had yesterday was with the chutes themselves. Before
launch, everyone should check to make sure the chute isn’t all bunched up or
tangled. They weren’t being very effective most of the time yesterday.

For the club, club expense :-)

Again, order it.

This past weekend showed that this series is popular, and serves more of
the members than any other event we've had. its too expensive for us to not
have quality hi starts for the series.

Right ?

Before you go and spend any money it needs to be cleared through Ron. We
may have some money right now after the Mid-South but lets don't go whole
hog. The money needs to last the next three years.

Stand by, its a lot more money than I remembered, so I am checking with my
sources. Tower offers some discounts on their High Starts but its not the
best tubing. So hang on a bit. I'll keep you posted.

I think that is a good plan. if we have the funds in teh club, we should
do it. Even with all of the issues, I still overheard more than one
member say they perferred to fly off of highstarts vs. the winch. I also think
we have created enough momentum to continue this as an annual series, so
the investment will pay off.

So, who gets to carry them around?
