[LASS Soaring] What makes a good G&R course?

Looks like we can sit out on the deck and have a ring side seat for
Gordy's XC flight! Not really cause there's a few trees between my
house and US 127 Bypass. LoL
I checked the mileage and thought we could launch from the Alton
Baptist Church to fly 7.6 miles north on US 127 to I-64 and return or
we can go by L-Burg and 9 miles to BG Parkway! There are many
landing sites on farms near US 127 northerly and quite a few build up
sites where heat thermals will develop.
Want to meet at my house about 11:30 AM and check out the route
(weather permitting)?
I'll spring for some cokes and water.
The easiest route description to my house is from Louisville east to
US 127 and then south 5.2 miles to Honeysuckle Estates (on east side
of US 127 South). Turn east on Honeysuckle thru the stone gates and
go to the top of the hill (a T intersection)--turn south/right for 0.3
mile and look for a Corvette red door on a house with two fieldstone
pillars on the west side/right of Blackberry Drive just before the T
intersection with Emma Drive at the bottom of the hill.
Dave you and AJ want to join me here and I'll help you get your XC
flights?
