[LASS Soaring] Why yes there was a Gateway Open last weekend! :-)

Here's the results, Karl "Iconman" wasn't about to be crushed again! He  
came out to play as usual on both days, taking first on Sat and 2nd on  
Sunday.  Talk about a tough crowd! At a boy to David Slinkard for holding  off the 
hoard of champs on Sunday!  Notable's Chris Lee and Michael Johnson  were 
lurking in close to the top as usual. And John Diniz was allowed out of the  
Horizon Hobby's caves to show that they not only sell good stuf, they also 
know  how to use it!
 
The Gateway is no easy contest!  The conditions can be spotty and with  MOM 
you can get your day handed to you pretty quickly with a wrong decision off 
 the launch.
 
Wish I could have been there to defend my last year's Saturday title  ;-)
Good group of guys to fly with, excellent soaring site.
