So the Lift guys put this post out (which I think was done on purpose to
sucker me in to treking around the trails in Elberta and Empire, Spot number
9&10.
Only to find the wind was not where it needed to be. It WAS blowing hard for
sure but it was wayyy too south to be good for flying.
And I have to tell you guys, don't even think you'd be able to fly these
sites with the World's Heaviest Carbon Supra Light, few have my experience with
flying extreme situation sites. (have you flown the moon scapes of Las
Vegas's Red Rock areas?)
Anyway I tried them all and number 9 and 10 is where the gigantic, massive
sand face areas are and could be a slope dream site come true...IF you didn't
have to lug your stuff over about a mile of hill and dale and dune...and back.
Elberta is a nice drive up, park and toss site...for foamies or very
experienced pilots with planes that have effective landing control.
Likely I won't make it back that way very soon, so decided instead heading
home the 10 hour drive, I'd check out the slopes.
I even got my Passport stamped with the Dunes Park National Seashore stamp
:-)
Where did you guys fly today?
Gordy
Louisville or Bust very early in the morning
